 | 3rd Mar 2004 | Caerphilly photos
Here is a selection of photographs showing scenes from the Caerphilly area between 1980 and 2001.
Some were taken from the landing window of the house I lived in at that time. Caerphilly is walkable, especially in good weather.
So many changes over the years I lived there, and more have occured since I've left - some say not for the better. So much history has been lost in the redevelopment over the years - I hope this is just a small attempt to archive the past. My biggest regret is that there aren't more

 | 30th Mar 2004 | Our front and back yard
These are photos taken of the 'mound' by the roadway and of the flowers we planted in our back yard, where Lori (my precious wife!) and I live.
The property is rented and the landlord has yet to put in a lawn, hence no grass.
The flowers were planted in February - August of 2003 and as you can see have matured well! A lot of hard work, time and money planting, feeding and watering by Lori, myself, and her ex-husband (who visits his son) and I think I can say its been well worth it. I know that Lori agrees with me!

 | 20th May 2005 | Jess' History
The pictures shown here were taken while I was serving in the U. K.'s Royal Naval Reserve between 1984 and 1990.
As of now there are only a few I took using an Olympus OM10 on two trips -
Lisbon and Gibraltar in 1986 and Gibraltar in 1988.
Basically these photos are 'historic' as the people and ships shown are no longer in service and locations have changed to a degree in both equipment and ownership.

 | 22nd May 2005 | Monrovia Days Parade 2005
The parade was on May 21st this year and while it went smoothly there was a lack of content and crowds.

 | 25th May 2005 | Bear pics from May 24th and May 28th, 2005
We have bears in the neighbourhood! Seriously, we live right up against the foothils of the San Gabriel mountains and the wildlife pays regular visits. One of the local species is the Californian Black Bear.
We see the grown bears but, rarely, you do get to see cubs. Not often do you get to see them but a few months old though...
I can assure you momma bear was not very far away, up in the branches 35' up...
Location is in the tree next to our driveway on 554 Norumbega Drive here in Monrovia, CA.
On May 28th momma decided she and the cubs would have a little tour of the neighbourhood again. After being in next door's pond she brought them up to our back yard. Some of the pics are here.
Apologies in advance for the poor quality on some but its difficult to shoot through glass and bug screens at certain times and angles.
